Blessing of Gardens

People WANT to know about your church! They may, eventually, want to connect with you. But first they must know you. Introduce yourself!! An event focused on plants on Earth Day is a great way to reach out to new people. This series will offer lots of ideas about how to expand beyond a 15 minute blessing service, to a simple festival likely to bring many more people to your location.

This series will provide you with lots of ideas about how to make your event more effective. The emphasis is on building relationships so people are active a year from now. That, of course, begins by encouraging more people to attend and making contact with those who do attend. Each of the Zoom sessions will focus on one aspect of this series.

You design an event that works in your context! I continually encourage you to NOT overwhelm yourself but pick just those things you can do well.

All Zoom sessions are at 11am and 7pm Eastern time. (Same presentation.) All are recorded and shared. The slides from all of them are also shared. In addition there are periodic emails about very specific topics.

Most important — help is always available on any question. I have people to ask if I don’t know the answer myself. I am always available to meet with you and your team.

Free!! This is my ministry and my passion. However, if anyone wishes to contribute that goes into a fund to help our smallest churches promote their events.

  • March 14th: Overview
  • March 21st: Building a relationship with new people
  • March 28th: Organizing your day
  • April 4th: Inviting people (Sorry!! I know that’s Holy Week, but the previous class meant this one could not start earlier. I will try and send out materials ahead of time.)

Registration: https://www.jotform.com/230534353929156

FEAR NOT!! If you miss the first session – not a problem!! I will help you catch up. Register whenever you can so you get all the information.

Build a team! One person can make an impact but more people make a greater impact. Invite people to register for the Overview class and then make a decision. Demographics frequently ignored: shut-ins (they can help a lot with organizing and promoting), newer people (don’t just ask the ‘same old, same old’ people)
